Motueka is an excellent location to base yourself in so you can enjoy all the Nelson & Tasman regions have to offer.
Motueka is only 35 minutes from Nelson Airport.
It's situated in the sunny Tasman region at the top of New Zealand's South Island.
It is well located for trips to Nelson, Mapua, the Moutere, the Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes and Kahurangi national parks, Kaiteriteri and for day forays to Golden Bay over Takaka Hill.
You can cycle out of the motel and be on the Great Taste Cycle Trail within minutes, cycling all the way to Kaiteriteri or Nelson.
Motueka's glorious climate makes it the ideal summer holiday location and Motueka has its own historical salt water baths - a great way to enjoy the sea if you prefer a pool.
Winter is lovely too, with clear, bright, blue days.
You can stroll into central Motueka from the motel and enjoy its restaurants, cafés, two picture theatres and local museum. There are two supermarkets, bakeries, a butcher, clothes shops...
Motueka Aerodrome offers you the chance to go parachuting (sky diving), take a helicopter ride or go hang gliding.
The Motueka 18 hole golf course is only a 5 minute walk down the road. This prestigious course has a seaside layout and is playable all year round. Golf clubs and carts are available for hire from the pro-shop. Anyone, at any level, is welcome.
For the trampers (hiking or hill walking) amongst you, the hills of the Kahurangi National Park can be seen from the motel gardens. You can even see Farewell Spit from the top of Mt Arthur on a clear day.
A friendly and relaxed family environment is always here for you. We believe that once you stay with us, you will want to return.
You deserve to try a little slice of this part of New Zealand, so come on, indulge yourself!

While you're here enjoy a trip into New Zealand's most accessible national park, the Abel Tasman.
Many of the operators will pick up from the motel or the information centre a short walk away. You can go sea kayaking, take a water taxi, walk part of the Abel Tasman Coastal Track or take a cruise.
Or pack a picnic and drive to the entrance of the Abel Tasman in Marahau and take a walk in to one of its beautiful golden bays. The green blue waters are very inviting in summer.
Look for the New Zealand wildlife you may see on the way. Many native birds are found in the park with some of the rarer ones e.g. saddleback and kaka being reintroduced. Keep your eyes out for our little blue penguin too.
There are usually New Zealand fur seals along the coastline in the park and if you're lucky you may see dolphins in the bays.
Then return from a day exploring the Abel Tasman, whether on foot, kayak or by boat, and relax in your quiet motel room.
Take a tour of the Nelson region's local wineries, vineyards, artists and galleries, or explore the golden beaches of Kaiteriteri - only a 15 minute drive away.
Visit Golden Bay and take an organised 4WD trip along the Farewell Spit to view unique wildlife (including the gannet colony) and landscapes.
While travelling to or from Golden Bay (over Takaka Hill, New Zealand's longest hill), discover the world's clearest springs at Pupu Springs.
Or enjoy a drink down at Mapua or a day in Nelson. Visit the Wearable Arts Museum and see some of the creations on display.
We'll happily book your local excursions or activities.
